The Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel***** G.L. presents, until 30 January, an exhibition in which the limelight has been taken by paintings by Jordi Curós (Olot, Gerona, 1930). The official opening of the exhibition, organized by the Barcelona hotel in collaboration with the art collection belonging to the Domenech Barceló family, will take place this forthcoming, Tuesday, 18 December, at 8.00 p.m.

Jordi Curós demonstrates in this latest exhibition at the Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel***** G.L., the evolution of his artistic career, which commenced at the School of Arts and Crafts in his native Olot, from where he was to travel to Paris. In the City of Light, this painter creates works with a defined, schematic character, in which the lines play an outstanding role. Little by little, Curós changes, at the beginning of the sixties starting to investigate the use of different materials and textures in his compositions, to return later to figurative painting, although with colour as the main protagonist. In short, the artistic career of Jordi Curós has varied substantially through the years, coming to the present with creations which combine figurative with abstract touches, with which one can enjoy a different vision, full of colour and textures.

Not only has the artistic career of Jordi Curós undergone a constant evolution; he has also received numerous acknowledgements. Since being awarded the Mulleras Prize in his home town of Olot, in 1947, this painter has received several awards, some of which are the Reial Cercle Artistic deBarcelona (1967) or the II International Biennial of Sport in Fine Arts (Madrid, 1969). Additionally, his work has been exhibited in the Contemporary Art Museum of Barcelona (1961) or in the Cisne Gallery (1988), to name just a few.
