The hotel Eurostars Cristal Palace**** (Barcelona) presents, until 24 August, a dozen paintings produced by the palate of artist Santi Clavell. The Catalonian painter displays a series of oils and acrylics in which he deals, according to the artist’s own words, “with nature and human sentiments, con sensations and fears of all kinds”. Amongst the paintings that can be admired are those entitled “Sahara”, “Silence” “Alone” or “Why?.

Santi Clavell, who started as a figurative painter, has evolved towards a more intimate style. In this context, the artist defines his work as “an attempt to find the balance between meditation on the most profound and serene sentiments and sensations, and the most deep-rooted and sincere form of expression to demonstrate them, by means of colour, form and matter”. In order to achieve this, Santi Clavell normally works with both oils and acrylic paints, although his technique is complemented with the use of the pencil, pastel or charcoal. “When sketching, I feel very comfortable working with watercolours and inks”, points out the Catalonian artist.

The Santi Clavell exhibition hosted by the Eurostars Cristal Palace********, jointly organized with Autentic Art, is the latest of a lengthy career of exhibitions in which the artist has been the leading figure. Indeed, Santi Clavell creations began to appear in the limelight towards the end of the eighties. Since then he has had regular exhibitions in different museums and galleries in Barcelona, Andorra or the Basque Country. In addition, some of his works are to be found displayed overseas, in countries such as Canada, France, Germany or the United Kingdom.
