15/01/08 The hotels Eurostars Gran Madrid**** (Alcobendas) and Eurostars Zarzuela Park (Madrid) present, from 15 January to 15 March, a joint exhibition with artistic creations by Sandra Garcia. In all, fifteen pieces of work are on display, in which this Madrid painter recreates situations that reflect an enormous emotional charge.

Sandra Garcia captures in her work sensations and sentiments. Experiences with a great emotional punch which are developed at a concrete moment of existence. “Situations that all of a sudden exist or disappear and with which we can all feel identified”, explains Garcia. To do so, the artist uses her two favourite supports, painting and photography, from which starting point she creates a universe where emotions are reflected from an angle that, paradoxically, “vary according to the mood of the moment”.

Artistically influenced by the pop art and impressionist movements, Sandra Garcia’s creations are distinctly figurative. In order to reach this point, Garcia’s career has been one of constant evolution. The commencement of her career began in 2001 when she achieved classification as a finalist in the 8^th edition of the Photography Award run by the magazine, “Routes of the World”, in a collective exhibition held at the HYMSA gallery in Barcelona. In 2003 she won first prize at the Marcopolo Club’s Photography Award in Bilbao, as well as in the advertising illustration competition organized by the daily ’20 Minutos’ newspaper. And, in 2004, she won the International Comic Prize, organized by the publisher, Saure. Throughout this time, Garcia’s creations have also been shown in galleries in Madrid, Vigo and Strasburg.
