20/11/2007 The Eurostars Zarzuela Park (Madrid) presents, from 20 November to 8 January, an exhibition of paintings by Raúl Suárez Mesa. This artist from Madrid is to display at the Eurostars Zarzuela Park Hotel a series of works characterized by their hyper-realism and by the powerful presence of urban landscapes.

Raúl Suárez, born in Fuenlabrada on the outskirts of Madrid in 1973, began his training at the local PopularUniversity in his home town. Having specialised in painting, his teachers include the artists Carlos Sosa-Gómez, Jorge Pedraza or Guillermo Oyagüez. In addition, this painter belongs to two local,  collective, cultural groups, “Magenta” and “La Fuente” (the Fountain), through which he has shown some of his exhibitions.

Work by Raúl Suárez has recently been on show in other localities, such as those organized in the Tomás y Valiente Art Centre in Fuenlabrada and in the Town Hall at Griñón (Madrid). Moreover, Raúl Suárez’s career has won him awards such as First Prize in the 10^th edition of the Benalmádena painting competition (Malaga, 2007), runner-up awards in the competitions organized by the towns of Valdemoro and Navalcarnero (Madrid, 2006) and Mention of Honour in the competition held by the Fuenlabrada Town Council in 2006.

Art exhibitions by local artists in their hotels are an example of the firm backing by Eurostars Hotels, the chain belonging to the Hotusa Group, in favour of their consolidation as an active agent within the artistic and cultural panorama of the cities in which they have presence.
