The Eurostars Ciudad de la Coruña**** holds the exhibition called “A Reflection on Life and Death”, from 20 July to 1 September. The show, by Maria Fernanda Candal y Tapia, who hails from Galicia, will be opened on Saturday, 21 July, at 7.30 p.m. Amongst the 18 pieces of work on display, viewers can delight in titles such as, “the Ego”, “Dusk”, “Where are you?”, “Portrait of the Soul”, or “Everything”.

María Fernanda Candal interprets painting as “something useful” and for this reason it should be reciprocal for both the author and the viewer of the work. By means of forms, textures, figures and colours, she tries to transmit a universe of sensations, emotions and thoughts. In this context, she adds that “painting, in the same way as music, should transmit something”.

Colour envelopes her work and the impact of the colour breaks away from any monotony. Through her personal style of painting, vital and expressive, we travel through a world of emotions, her source of inspiration. María Fernanda adds that she feels most comfortable with oils, although she also works happily with water paints.

María Fernanda‘s beginnings go back to 1979 and, since that date, national and international exhibitions vouch for her artistic career. In addition to the travelling exhibitions, she has works permanently on display at the Sporting Club Casino, the Puentedeume Hall of Culture, as well as in various restaurants in the capital of Galicia.
