Impulsive creations by Blanca Gala, take the limelight in the Eurostars Gran Madrid**** Hotel.

The Eurostars Gran Madrid Hotel**** (Alcobendas) presents, from 7 December to 10 January, an exhibition of works by Blanca Gala. The artist defines her creations as a result of a “controlled impulse” in which “a tension more spiritual than physical appears, with a great lyrical charge”. Nevertheless, this artist from Cordova points out that reality also plays an important role in the line of her canvases.
These are works which are endowed, with particular importance, with the vibration of lights, colour and movement. Regarding her sources of inspiration, Gala affirms that her work is a result of an introspective process, “based, perhaps, on the contemplation of nature, the curiosity about the human being or still life”. And it is marine landscapes where the artist finds her talisman.
Having shown great interest in drawing from her earliest youth, Blanca Gala arrives at the world of painting in adult life, while at the same time carrying out her professional activity: journalism. This explains her vision of painting as “the search for a final result that even surprised me, without having anything pre-established”, before tackling a canvas. Practically self-taught, Blanca Gala has exhibited her creations in different places for the last twenty years. Her first show was in the Libería-Galería Carmin Abril (no longer in existence) in Madrid, 1986. Other venues where she has exhibited are the Galería Toisón (Madrid, 1992), the Town Hall ofFuentovejuna (Cordova, 1995), in the College of Technical and Industrial Engineers of Madrid (1994, 1995 and 2007) and in the Cultural Centre Fernández de los Ríos (Madrid, 2007).
