EUROSTARS HOTELS TRAVEL WRITING AWARD

Set in the forest of Chocó, in Colombia, the most impenetrable and tropical part of the earth, this short story is the chronicle of a twenty-five-day expedition, apparently scientific, where three young Colombians take part in a search for unknown plants. the young students soon discover the real aim of this trip: the directors of the expedition are searching for a diary written over half a century ago in which a doctor explained the remedy against cancer, based on natural substances.

Adventure, tension, action, this is a purely cinematographic plot, including elements from espionage, technological thrillers and constant winks to the reader. The author knows how to create the mystery required to grip the reader and generate an anxious desire to discover what happens next. Eladio de Valdenebro. (1942, Popayán. colombia).

Married, has three daughters and four grandchildren. He is a professional architect and is currently directing a large urban project: a natural park on the bank of the river Cauca. He has published several books in the children's collection Torre de Papel, of the publishers Norma.

All his books feature Toño as the main character, a peasant boy who has to fight against rascals, defend a forest that is going to be cut down to build a paper factory or free jungle animals trapped by poachers. Toño, now as a young adult, is one of the characters of Crónicas de Selva.
