The Eurostars Gaudí hotel (Barcelona) presents its first exhibition, through to 20 April, by Miguel Olivares (Barcelona, 1967). This show of 18 pieces of work inaugurates the artists’ area in the Eurostars Gaudí Hotel, within the framework of the Hotusa Group backing of the artistic and cultural values that characterizes it. Amongst the items on show, there are nine paintings in acrylic and collages on wood and, in addition, nine graphic works that are personalized silk-screen prints, including Market at night, Mumbai, the Ramblas, or Barcelona poetry.

Miguel Olivares graduated in Fine Arts from Barcelona University in 1990 and with his studies in design, experienced his baptism of fire with his first important exhibition in the Jordi Bernardas Gallery in Barcelona. Later on, he was to hold his first international exhibitions in Toulouse, Paris, Perpignan, Chicago or Los Angeles.

Olivares has carried out mural works in the Dominica Republic and projects in different locations in Barcelona, such as the L’Illa shopping centre, the Teknon Clinic, Moll de la Fusta, Rambla del Raval, the Dos Trece Restaurant or Red Cross of Barcelona, or the murals in the Palau Congress Hall of Catalonia. As founder of the artistic group, Mediaworks, Miguel Olivares has created a virtual picture presented during the Barcelona Contemporary Art show, in the Barcelona Cultural Centre and projects for the Cervantes Institute in Morocco.
