Hotel Eurostars Diana PalaceHotel Eurostars Diana Palace Palencia
Luxury hotel in Palencia

A friendly establishment, comfortable and functional, opposite the high-speed railway station in the capital of the Tierra de Campos region

The Eurostars Diana Palace Hotel is superbly located in the nerve centre of Palencia, just a few metres away from the high street (Calle Mayor) and the city’s historical buildings, in addition to being very close to the Palencia Industrial Estate. Situated opposite the railway station, the city is connected with Madrid-Chamartín station and Valladolid with over a dozen trains daily.

This city, on the Carrión river, proudly claims to be the Spanish provincial capital with most green areas per inhabitant. Our establishment is close to the Jardinillos, one of the most beautiful parks in the city and a short distance from the Church of St. Paul, the Cathedral, Palacio de la Diputación, the Church of St. Francis and the Villandrando College, with its impressive, colourful façade, the most representative Modernist building in Palencia. A stroll through the Calle Mayor, the city’s liveliest thoroughfare, makes a night’s stay in Palencia well worthwhile and, precisely on the Calle Mayor is where the first university in Spain was founded in the 12th century, the Studium Generale Palencia, which has since disappeared.

With very carefully studied lighting and ambiance, the Eurostars Diana Palace would like to be your accommodation in the city. Our restaurant, decorated with three large-scale paintings by local artist, Álvaro Reja, offers a variety of dishes representing the rich, local cuisine.

Allow us to make you a secret recommendation. Visit the nearby locality of Autilla del Pino, only 8 kms. away, and admire the scenic beauty of our dearly-loved Tierra de Campos (Land of Fields) from the lookout point; the colours are never the same in our homeland.

Information about Palencia

The roman Pallantia has lived significant historical moments. The city was in the past a Cross roads, an important textile manufacture center and the city where the first Spanish university was founded. In the middle age Palencia experienced its period of maximum splendor and nowadays still keeps a medieval appearance. The Calle Mayor Street crosses the old town from north to south, with its elegant buildings and many shops. The Carrión river banks represent one of the biggest leisure areas in the city. In Palencia green areas occupy an important area in the urban layout and the city is the first in Spain for green areas per habitant.

The Cristo Del Otero, an enormous stone sculpture erected upon one of the hills surrounding the city, is one of the biggest Christ statues worldwide and a symbol of Palencia which can be seen from many kilometers of distance. In downtown the old town roads lead to la Bella Desconocida (the beautiful unknown), that’s how the Cathedral is called. The gothic facade austerity conceals the artistic richness of its interior. The city can be the starting point for a Romanesque route that brings to discover a beautiful medieval heritage due to the proximity with the Camino de Santiago (St. James' Way).
