A Coruña lies in the Spanish North West, in the autonomous community of Galicia. The city, really old and embedded in a fabulous landscape, it’s a full-blown window above the Atlantic Ocean, which played the most important role in all the city history. A Coruña is multifaceted: from the tranquility of the suggestive seafront to the lively and cosmopolitan street of the old town, full of taverns, restaurants and pubs, from the fishermen’s shouting voices at the market to the peacefulness of the fine sand beaches and the green areas that surround the city.

But A Coruña is also an artistic and cultural city, full of museums and historical buildings. In A Coruña the famous Tower of Hercules can be found: declared from UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s the only roman lighthouse still working, from its top there’s a spectacular view above the city. The Aquarium Finisterrae, the Science Museum and the Mankind or Domus are some of the newest and more interactive places of the city. The architectonical elements that compose one of the most emblematic images of A Coruña are the characteristic Galerias, buildings made of windowed balconies, once fishermen’s houses, that gave to the city the name of Ciudad de cristal (Crystal City).
